Moscow

The Kremlin

The Kremlin is the center of all of Russian history. Ivan the Terrible and Stalin led their terrors from here. Napoleon watched Moscow burn from here. Lenin established his dictatorship in the same place that Gorbachev declared democracy. Yeltsin struggled to keep reform afloat here.

Lenin's Tomb

Novodevichy Convent

This is the next best place to be buried other than the Kremlin. This former political holds Chekhov, Eisenstein, Gogol, Khrushchev, Kropotkin, Mayakovsky, Prokofiev, Stanislavsky and Shostakovich.

St. Basil's Cathedral

St. Petersburg (Leningrad)

St. Petersburg, or Leningrad as it was known during the times of Soviet Russia, is one of the youngest cities in all of Russia, it only dates back to the mid 1200s AD. It is the high point of Eastern Europe, where Western European greats came and used their talents.

Vladivostok

This is the easternmost major city in Russia. Serving as the home base for the Pacific Fleet, Vlad (as it is commonly shortened too) gains its glory from naval conquest and the fact that it is the end of the famous Trans-Siberian Railway, with Moscow being the other end.

Volgograd (Stalingrad)
